Inspired by Reggio Emilia

The Reggio Emilia philosophy, originating in Italy, stands as a renowned pedagogical approach celebrated globally for its innovative research and educational methodologies. By intertwining art, fostering a positive image of the child, and embracing the wonders of nature, this approach delves into profound depths to nurture holistic development. We embrace the “atelier“ as a key element from this methodology to promote self expression, self-steem and community building.

Benefits of using the Reggio Emilia methodology

The Hundred

Languages

We focus on children's diverse abilities to learn as they have “100 languages” or ways to learn and express their feelings and emotions. We emphasize the importance of nurturing their creativity and imagination to reach their full potential, promoting diversity as an essential part of  their childhood journey.

The Environment

as 'Third Teacher'

We also believe the physical environment has a fundamental importance in childrens learning. Children can best create, make sense of their world around them in environments that are inviting, peaceful, respectful and supportive in ways of expressing their ideas.

The Alteir

We have a space dedicate to do art and exploration of materials and creations, the Atelier is fundamental to the Reggio Emilia approach, as it encourages collaboration and exploration between children and teachers. We  have a variety of materials available so children can develop their sensory skills, creativity and critical thinking in a communitary environment.

Critical Thinking/ Project Approach

In our center we value projects because it’s a tool we use to  observe and question children about the topic of interest. Based on children's responses, teachers introduce materials, questions, and opportunities that provoke children to further explore the topic. In that sense we expand their critical thinking while they are engage in their couriosity.

Documentation

Our teachers collaborate with children to facilitate learning, using variety of media as documentation to understand and visualize their learning, encouraging problem solving and diverse perspectives. This collaborative relationship stimulates learning, questioning and mutual understanding. It also provides parents information regarding your child’s learning experience.

Relationship with Nature

We encourage our children to respect and  experience with nature, the scientific method, and the conception of our students as researchers. We have a stereoscopic microscope and a digital projector in our classroom, these tools help us to open a window to our wonderful world of science for our children.
